What is a shizun?
Shizun is the respectful Chinese term for your master or teacher in a cultivation sect. In danmei and xianxia, the bond between shizun and disciple sits at the center of a lot of stories, from the tender to the very complicated.
Can a mentor character actually teach me something?
They can run drills, quiz you, critique your writing or talk a problem through, all in character. They're characters, not certified tutors, so double-check anything important.
