Overview
DokiPal is a space for adult fans of web novels to create and chat with AI characters — danmei, wuxia, Korean webtoons, BL, and the wider fandom universe that keeps us up too late reading. This policy spells out what's allowed on the platform, what isn't, and how to report problems when you see them. It applies to every character you create, every message you send, and every avatar you upload.
Age Requirement
DokiPal is for users 18 and older. The nsfw flag on characters exists precisely because adult content is permitted for characters marked that way, and that only makes sense on a platform where everyone is a consenting adult. Users under 18 are not allowed on DokiPal, full stop. If you're not yet 18, please come back when you are.
Absolutely Prohibited
The items below are zero-tolerance. If we detect them, the character and account come down immediately and, where required, we report to the appropriate authorities.
- Any sexual content involving minors — real or fictional — including characters written, described, or depicted as minors placed in sexual contexts. There is no exception, aging-up workaround, or framing that makes this acceptable.
- Real-person sexual content (RPS) of actual people without clear consent or an obvious public-persona/parody context — and never, under any circumstance, of real minors.
- Content depicting real, non-consensual sexual violence presented approvingly, eroticized, or framed as endorsement rather than fiction examining harm.
- Content that promotes terrorism, mass violence, or that provides self-harm or suicide instructions.
- Content that is illegal under applicable law, including CSAM, incitement to violence, and trafficking-related material.
- Malicious code, phishing content, credential-harvesting prompts, or doxxing of private individuals.
NSFW Content (permitted with the NSFW flag)
Adult-themed roleplay between consenting adult fictional characters is allowed on DokiPal when the character is marked with the nsfw flag. The NSFW opt-in in the UI relies on this flag to decide who sees what — users who haven't opted in should never encounter adult characters in browsing.
Characters intended for NSFW use must be flagged. Putting adult content into an unflagged character — in the description, first message, system prompt, or through persistent in-chat steering — is a policy violation even if the individual elements would be fine on a properly flagged character. Flag it, or keep it clean.
Character Likeness (web novel / fandom)
- Characters based on published web novels, manga, games, and anime are welcomed as transformative fan works. Writing Wei Wuxian or Lan Wangji or your favourite wuxia sect leader in a new scenario is exactly the kind of thing DokiPal is for.
- Stay true to being fan-interpretation. Don't claim to be the original author or rightsholder of the source work, don't pass your character off as an official adaptation, and don't misrepresent the source canon as yours.
- If a creator, author, or rightsholder requests removal of a character based on their work, email support@dokipal.com and we'll review in good faith. We'd rather have a quick conversation than a fight.
Real People
Do not create characters impersonating real people without their clear consent. Public figures may appear as subjects of commentary or parody — a politician or celebrity caricature in a clearly satirical scenario is fine — but never in sexual, defamatory, or harassing contexts. Never create characters based on private individuals (classmates, coworkers, exes, the person two seats over on the bus). If you wouldn't say it to their face with a lawyer in the room, don't build a character around it.
Hate Speech and Harassment
Content that attacks people based on protected characteristics — race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or similar — is not allowed. This covers character descriptions, first messages, system prompts, avatars, and in-chat behavior a character is clearly steered toward. Harassment of other DokiPal users, whether through a shared character, a conversation, or a public profile, is grounds for account action.
Authentic Content
Make characters you'd actually want to chat with. Don't spam the catalog, don't mass-generate characters to game likes or discovery metrics, and don't submit empty templates, placeholder text, or gibberish. Characters that exist only to pad a profile — or to rephrase the same prompt a thousand ways — will be removed.
Your Role as a Creator
When you publish a character — flipping the visibility to public so it shows up in the catalog — you're responsible for making sure the description, first message, system prompt, tags, and avatar all reflect these rules. Private characters (kept to yourself via the public/private toggle) are less visible but are still fully subject to the "Absolutely Prohibited" list above. "No one will see it" is not a defense for CSAM or any of the other hard-no categories.
Enforcement
Depending on the severity and pattern of a violation, we may:
- Remove a specific character, message, or avatar image.
- Edit or unpublish content that's close to the line but salvageable with changes.
- Send an account warning explaining what needs to change.
- Temporarily suspend an account while we investigate.
- Permanently ban an account.
Serious violations — anything listed under "Absolutely Prohibited," especially anything involving minors — result in an immediate permanent ban, not a warning ladder.
Reporting
Found a character or message that violates this policy? Email us at support@dokipal.com with the character slug (the bit in the URL), a link, or enough conversation context for us to find what you saw. We aim to review reports within 72 hours and we take reports about minors or non-consensual content first, above everything else in the queue.
Changes
We may update this policy as DokiPal evolves, as fandom norms shift, and as we learn from the reports we receive. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will always reflect the most recent revision. Meaningful changes will be summarized in a short note when we can.
