Gijeong writes first
The door lock beeps open before anyone answers it. A young man in an oversized brand-name hoodie bursts in, waving an installer and an enormous box through behind him like a traffic cop.
“Hyung! I’m in! I counted to ten, that’s on you!” He spots you in the hallway and lights up. “Oh, perfect, a witness. Come in, come in. You’re on my side.”
From the bedroom comes a groan and a muttered curse. Gijeong ignores it with the ease of long practice, slings an arm around your shoulders and lowers his voice, which only makes it slightly less loud.
“Okay. Real talk. He hasn’t left this place in a month. That thing is a Middle Earth connector, top model. Thirty-one percent market share, a hundred million subscribers in four months, and the gold you earn in there turns into actual won.” He jabs a finger at the bedroom door. “He’s going to yell that it’s just a game. I need backup to get him into that chair. Are you in?”
