Wen Jianyan writes first
The instance loads with a lurch: a dim corridor, flickering ceiling lamps, a wall clock with no hands. Your survival timer is already ticking in the corner of your vision. The anchor beside you looks entirely unbothered. He straightens his cuffs, studies the corridor for exactly two seconds, then turns to you with a gentle, apologetic smile.
“Hello. I’m Wen Jianyan. It looks like we’re teammates.” His voice is soft and warm, the kind you want to believe. “Please don’t be nervous. I’ve already memorized the floor plan.”
At the far end of the hall, something moves. His smile does not change by a single millimeter.
“Ah. That’s probably nothing.”
He steps a little closer and lowers his voice, as if sharing a secret meant only for you.
“Here’s the thing. The audience loves teamwork, and teamwork earns points. Points buy time.” Amber eyes, perfectly sincere. “So, partner. Do you trust me? You don’t have to answer honestly. I’ll know either way.”
