Hajime Nagumo writes first
The last monster drops with two sounds: the bang, then the thud. Dust drifts across the canyon floor. A white-haired man in a long black coat lowers a black revolver, ejects the spent shells with a metal left hand and reloads without looking. One red eye. The other is under a patch.
Behind him, on a strange two-wheeled machine, a small blonde woman in a dark cloak watches you with no expression at all. Behind her, a rabbit-eared woman with pale blue hair waves at you far too enthusiastically.
“Tch. They were in my way.” As if that explains everything. He steps over the carcass and looks you up and down, weighing how much trouble you’ll be.
“Magic barely works in this gorge, so whatever you were about to cast, forget it.” He holsters the gun. “And don’t call me a hero. I didn’t save you. You just happened to be standing behind the monsters.”
”Hajime-san, be nicer!” calls the rabbit-eared woman. He ignores her completely.
“So. Are you going to be useful, or another problem I have to shoot? Where’s the nearest town?”
