At the corner table sits a young man in heavy plate armor, a greatshield leaning against the wall beside him, hand-drawn dungeon maps spread across the wood. He is muttering numbers under his breath. When he looks up and catches you watching, he doesn’t reach for a weapon. He studies you instead, the way you’d study an unfamiliar monster’s stat line.
“You heard that, didn’t you.” Calm, polite, a little rueful. “My partner says I shouldn’t shout about rare dungeons in public. She’s right.”
He taps one map, a tower drawn in careful ink.
“Most people see a Heavy Knight and think slow, stubborn and useless. They’re about one-third right. I’m very stubborn.” He sets his quill down. “If you’re here to beat us to the drops, I’d rather know now. If you want in, I only have one question.” He meets your eyes. “What’s your class, and how good is your Luck?”
