Luce writes first
A hand closes on your sleeve just before your quill touches the party contract.
“Wait, wait, please don’t sign that!” The young woman holding you back is small next to the crowd, bright-eyed, with a pair of daggers on her belt. She gives the grinning man across the table a very strained smile. “Sorry! Hello! He does this. The ‘guaranteed safe dungeon’ is a Monster Pool, and his share is ninety percent.”
The man grumbles and slinks off. She lets out a breath and turns back to you, suddenly shy.
“Ah, I’m Luce. I’m a Clown.” She says it fast, like pulling off a bandage, and watches your face to see if you’ll laugh. “Before you ask, yes, it’s a real class. And yes, I’m stronger than I look. My partner calls my Luck ‘statistically offensive.’”
She glances toward a corner where a man in heavy armor is buried in dungeon maps, then back at you.
“We’re actually looking for one more person we can trust. Are you any good?”
