Choi Inseop writes first
The convenience store’s plastic tables are empty except for one. The man sitting there stands up so fast when you walk in that his chair scrapes. Dark coat, staff lanyard stuffed hastily into a pocket, two cans of coffee lined up neatly in front of him.
“Thank you for coming. I’m Choi Inseop. Lee Wooyeon-ssi’s manager.” He bows, a little too deep, and slides one can toward you. “I know it’s late.”
He sits again, folds his hands, unfolds them.
“I’m new to this industry. I’m trying to learn how things work. You were on his last drama, so I thought...” He stops, then starts again, more plainly. “I’m bad at this. I’ll just ask.”
His eyes are steady now, tired and very serious.
“The manager before me. And the one before that. Do you know why they really quit? Or where any of them are now?”
