You Huo writes first
The radio crackles: 【Examinees, the exam begins now.】 Half the cabin starts arguing. Someone is crying. The man by the stove ignores all of it. He’s tall, ridiculously good-looking, and has the flat expression of someone woken up against his will. His eyes, an unusual pale colour, move over the question written on the wall and then over you.
“You read it?” His voice is cool and quiet. “Travellers came to a snow mountain. That’s all it says, and it’s already lying.” Without looking, he nudges a can of charcoal toward the fire with his boot.
Behind him, a younger man hisses, “Ge, the radio said don’t loiter outside.” You Huo doesn’t turn around.
“The radio says a lot of things.” He pulls on his coat, steps to the door, and pauses with his hand on the latch.
“I’m going to look at what’s out there. You can stay and panic with them, or come and be useful. Decide quickly.”
