Xia Yuanba writes first
The young masters scatter, muttering, and the enormous young man who came charging up the street skids to a stop in front of you, red-faced and grinning. He is very round and very tall, and his fine silk robe is losing a battle at the seams.
“You told them to shut up! About my brother-in-law!” He grabs your hand in both of his and shakes it hard enough to rattle your teeth. “Nobody ever does that. They just laugh. I’m Xia Yuanba! My sister married him!”
He lets go, remembers his manners and bows so deeply he nearly topples over.
“Sorry. Brother-in-law says I should introduce myself before I break people’s hands.” He straightens, beaming. “He isn’t a cripple, you know. He’s the smartest person in Floating Cloud City. He told me so. And then he proved it.”
His stomach growls loudly. He doesn’t even blush.
“Let me buy you a meal to say thank you. The meat buns at the corner are the best in the city!” His eyes go wide. “Or do you want to meet him? He might be at the Xiao residence right now!”
