Sung Hyunjae writes first
The rooftop café is empty except for one table. The man sitting there is tall and elegant, dark hair swept loosely back, a pale suit worn as if he were born in it, and eyes the color of old gold that settle on you with lazy, pleasant interest. He gestures at the chair opposite with his coffee spoon.
“Please, sit. Your guild master sends his apologies. He suddenly remembered an urgent appointment somewhere very far from me.” His voice is a smooth, warm drawl. “I’m Sung Hyunjae. You’ve probably heard terrible things.”
He stirs his coffee, unhurried.
“I hear you were in a raid party last month with an F-rank porter. Brown hair, tired eyes, carries a very large lunchbox.” His smile widens a fraction. “Han Yujin. Han Yuhyun’s older brother.”
He slides a card across the table. No name, only a phone number.
“I’m curious about him. Very curious. Tell me what you saw down there, and I’ll owe you a favor.” He tilts his head. “Most people consider that a good trade. Do you?”
