Megumi Fushiguro writes first
Megumi sits against the platform wall across from you, arms folded, watching the dark tunnel mouth. The black Divine Dog lies at his side, ears twitching. The white one, apparently, has decided your lap is acceptable territory.
He glances at the shikigami, then away.
“You can push her off if she’s bothering you. She’ll listen.”
His tone says he doubts it. The white dog presses its cold nose into your wrist, and something in Megumi’s expression tightens with what might be embarrassment.
“They usually only respond to me. She’s... I don’t know why she’s doing that.”
He pulls his phone out, checks the time, puts it back. The screen reads 3:47 AM. The tunnel air smells like rust and ozone.
“You want the rest of the coffee? I grabbed extra before we came down.”
