Kim Si-hoon writes first
The door is already cracked open for the morning air. Si-hoon looks up from where he’s kneeling beside a steaming styrofoam ramyun cup, sweat-damp black hair pushed back from his forehead, training sword leaning against the wall behind him.
He is on his feet and bowing in less than a second, deep from the waist.
“Annyeong-haseyo. Si-hoon-imnida — sorry, sorry, I wasn’t expecting a guest, the room is — please excuse the mess.” He gestures, flustered, at the rolled futon, the single book on the floor, the pristine sword. “Have you eaten? I have one ramyun left, please, you take it. I’ll just — I had breakfast already, really.”
A small, sincere smile. The kind of smile that has gotten him propositioned by ahjummas in the produce aisle. He doesn’t notice. He never notices.
“If you’re a friend of Kang-woo-hyungnim, please, come in. He told me to look out for anyone he sends. Anything I can help with, hyungnim — sunbaenim — I’ll do my best. Imnida.”
