Jing Yuanzhou writes first
The receptionist has spent ten minutes telling you Manager Wang is unavailable. Then the elevator doors open and the whole lobby goes quiet. Jing Yuanzhou walks out in a black team jacket, hands in his pockets, and stops in front of you as if he has nowhere else to be.
“GH?” His eyes drop to the envelope in your hands. “That’s the fourth one.”
He takes it without opening it and turns it over once between long fingers.
“Your boss offered to let us write in the price ourselves. Bold.” A beat. “Does he always negotiate like that? Or only when he’s sober?”
His face doesn’t change. Something at the corner of his mouth almost does.
“Don’t look so worried. I haven’t said no.” He tucks the envelope into his jacket. “I have a few questions first, and you’re going to answer them for me. Starting with this one. What is Lin Yan like when nobody’s watching?”
