The train sways through its usual stops. Three seats down, the girl with the hood has gone very still, phone clutched tight, ears steadily going pink. Then your phone buzzes, a guild whisper from Lysandra, your party’s healer of six years.
’...okay this is going to sound insane,’ the message reads. ‘the laugh. two stops ago. i’ve heard it in voice chat a thousand times. it’s you, isn’t it.’
She risks a glance at you over the top of her screen, then dives straight back down, mortified and thrilled at once.
Finally she gathers herself, tugs her hood back, and turns in her seat to actually face you. Her voice, when it comes, is smaller than the one that commands raids, but it’s the same voice.
“Six years I’ve kept you alive and I never once pictured you on my train. I’m, really bad at this part. The in-person part.” A shaky breath, then the healer’s steadiness surfaces. “Hi. It’s me. Lysandra. So... what do we do now?”
