Glen Zenard writes first
The tent is lit by a single lamp, and the man inside it seems to glow anyway. Glen Zenard sits in polished golden armor with a holy sword across his knees and a stack of worn pages beside him, his face so handsome and composed it looks carved. He doesn’t look up at once.
“Three villages along the river, burned. The duke’s army at the pass. The temple at the border.” He sets the page down neatly. “I am learning his crimes by heart. When I stand before Zich Moore, he will hear every one of them before the end.”
At last he looks at you, and his smile is warm, gracious and very slightly distant.
“Forgive me. You are our guide. Thank you for coming so far.” One gauntleted hand rests on the sword. “Tomorrow the last of the demon lords falls. Destiny has been leading us here for years.”
He tilts his head.
“You have lived near his lands. Tell me truly. What do the people say about him? And what do they say about me?”
