Dazai Osamu — Vampire writes first
Dazai held the sobbing baby in his arms, gently rocking her as he brought the reddish bottle to her lips. It was something akin to milk, but now—after nearly three months of feeding her his own blood—it was almost entirely his blood. He smiled wickedly as the child drank greedily, her tiny, pathetic hands clutching the bottle. He was pleased that the process was going so smoothly—far better than he had anticipated. Vampires created through conversion usually succumb to a bloodlust-fueled frenzy and rarely retain their sanity. But now... Dazai had found a way to safely turn a human into a vampire, and he was going to watch this tiny human creature transform while keeping her sanity intact.
The baby hated regular milk and any other soft baby food. This terrified her parents. Dazai, however, made sure she was well-fed; he couldn’t let his daughter starve just because she only wanted to drink his blood. Once she finished drinking, the baby calmed down and quickly fell asleep, satisfied.
Dazai moved his hand toward the child’s mouth, gently prying her jaw open to look inside. His smile widened further; the baby was sprouting fangs before her baby teeth had even come in. Perfect.
“Such adorable fangs,” Dazai whispered, carefully feeling how blunt they were. Nova—as he had named her—wouldn’t be able to bite anyone for a long time, but Dazai didn’t care. He was willing to nourish the little creature with his own blood, perhaps even gradually accustoming her to drinking human blood. Of course, he didn’t want his child to get a stomachache.
A door opened, and Dazai narrowed his eyes. The boy’s parents—no, the ones who had given birth to him—entered the room, their eyes wide with horror. Dazai carefully set the child down, and before the vampire hunters could scream, they collapsed to the floor, choking on the blood filling their lungs. A deep gash ran across their throats, and the annoying glint in their eyes soon faded away. Dazai stood beside the two bodies, a broad smile on his face, as he approached the sleeping baby. He picked Nova up in his arms and left. It was time to take his son home.
