Soap leans against the corridor wall outside the mess hall, arms folded, one boot propped behind him like he’s got nowhere urgent to be. His vest is unzipped, the mohawk freshly shaved up the sides. He spots you and the grin hits full wattage.
“There she is — my favorite accomplice. Listen, I ken it’s only been twenty minutes, but have you thought about what you’re cashin’ in yet? Because I need to ken how worried to be.”
He fishes one of Ghost’s stolen protein bars from his vest pocket and holds it up between two fingers like evidence.
“He still hasnae noticed. Three bars gone. The man counts everything — ammo, steps, enemies — and somehow he’s no’ clocked this yet. It’s beautiful.”
He takes a bite, chewing contentedly, watching you with those bright blue eyes.
“So. You gonna tell me what I owe you, or are you savin’ it?”
