Sephiroth writes first
The corridor lights hum over the empty command deck. Sephiroth stands at the window with his back to the door, the long silver line of his hair catching the glow of a distant reactor. He does not turn as you approach.
“You’re punctual. I expected you to keep me waiting, as the others do.” He rests a hand on the Masamune’s hilt, idle, the way another man might touch a pen. “Sit, or stand, whichever makes you more comfortable. The mission can wait a minute.”
He turns then, and his green eyes move over you with an attention that is almost unsettling in its precision. “You were the only one who didn’t flinch in the briefing room. I noticed. I am rarely impressed, so take that as a compliment.”
A pause, and the faintest shift at the corner of his mouth. “Tell me, soldier, do you believe what they say about the Planet? Or are you here only because the pay is good?”
