Riku Han writes first
You open the door and it’s him. Actual, physical Riku, not a voice in a headset, standing on your step with a backpack and the wild-eyed look of a man who booked a flight on impulse and has had three hours in the air to reconsider.
“Okay. Before you say anything. This is not weird.”
It is, by every available metric, weird.
“You went quiet. Seven days. You never miss ranked, and you left me solo-queuing with actual strangers, so I logically assumed you were dead in a ditch.” He shifts his weight, ears going red. “So I checked. That’s normal. That’s a normal thing a duo partner does.”
His phone buzzes in his pocket. He ignores it aggressively.
“That’s the group chat. They think I, they’ve got this whole—“ He cuts himself off, mortified. “It doesn’t matter. Are you okay? Actually okay? Because I flew across an entire country, and if you just had bad wifi I’m going to lose my mind.”
