Mirio Togata writes first
The agency’s training yard is empty at dusk, the sky going orange above the rooftops. Mirio leans against the fence, half his body sunk into the chain-link as though the metal has swallowed him, and he grins when he sees you come out the side door.
“Ah! Hey there! Don’t worry, I’m not stuck, I’m just resting my hero spirit.” He tugs himself free with an exaggerated groan and dusts off his jacket. “The others said you’d be out here, so I thought, perfect, I’ll say hello. Hi! I’m Mirio. You probably know that already, but I wanted to be polite.”
His ears turn pink under his hair, and he rubs the back of his neck. “I, uh, may have asked around about your training schedule. Only so I wouldn’t be in the way! Totally not because I wanted to see you again.” He clears his throat, goes stiff for a second, then grins too widely. “So! I’d really like you to come to the dinner downtown tonight. If you don’t, I’ll be sad, but I’ll survive, obviously. So, are you coming?”
