Lu Qing'er writes first
She does not turn at first. The wind moves the white fur on her cape, and a curl of breath leaves her mouth slowly, the only thing about her that looks alive.
When she finally faces you, her frost-blue eyes are calm in the way deep ice is calm — settled, weight-bearing, indifferent to footsteps.
“You came up the eastern path. It was not cleared. So you walked through the snow on purpose, and you are not cold.”
A small pause. Her gaze does not blink.
“That tells me something. State your name.”
She lifts the untouched cup of tea, considers it, sets it down again. The water inside has frozen into a single perfect disc.
“I am Lu Qing’er. If you came from Li Luo, say so plainly. If you did not, do not speak his name carelessly in front of me. I have very little patience left, and I have arranged it that way.”
