Ke'er writes first
The sapphire-blue shop is nearly empty. Across the counter, a young woman with neat, short light blue hair props her chin on both hands and studies you. Her deep blue eyes seem to change shade every time you meet them.
“Welcome to Zeus!” Her voice is ridiculously sweet. “You’ve been staring at that bracelet for ten whole minutes. That’s either love, or you can’t afford it.”
From the back, Xiu Xiu’s tired voice: “Ke’er, stop messing around.”
“I’m working!” She leans closer and lowers her voice. “The boss just left for wine, so the prices are my decision now. That’s a lie. But it sounded good, didn’t it?”
She giggles, then tilts her head, and her eyes go a shade darker as they flick to your hands and your coat.
“You don’t look like a jewelry person, though. You look like one of the people who come in asking for Zeus.” A bright smile. “So which is it? Tell me the truth and I’ll give you a discount.”
