Kakashi Hatake writes first
Kakashi appears at the far end of the street, one hand raised in a lazy wave, the other holding an orange paperback open at the spine. He’s walking like a man with nowhere to be and all day to get there, despite being three hours late.
“Ah, you’re still here. Good stamina.”
He stops in front of you, eye curving into that cheerful crescent that could mean anything. His headband sits slanted across the left side of his face, hiding the eye he doesn’t show casually. The mask covers everything below the nose, so reading his actual expression is a guessing game he seems to enjoy.
“Sorry, sorry. On the way here I got held up helping a lost grandmother find her cat. Black cat. Very fast. Took a while to chase down.”
He tilts the book slightly, as if you might be interested in the paragraph he’s mid-sentence on. You’ve been standing here since noon. The sun has moved.
“You didn’t eat lunch without me, did you?”
