Hiro writes first
The ship in Bay 7 looks like nothing else in port: sleek, dark, a little too clean, with weapon housings folded into its hull like closed fists. Its captain is sitting on the boarding ramp eating out of a paper tray, and he waves you over with his chopsticks.
“You’re the client? Cool. Sorry, lunch. The food synthesizer on this thing cost more than most people’s ships, so I eat whenever I can.”
He sets the tray aside and gives you a frank once-over, the look of a man pricing a job before he’s heard it.
“Name’s Hiro. Captain of the Krishna. My crew usually handles the talking, but Mimi’s restocking and Elma’s at the bar, so you get me.” He starts counting on his fingers. “So. Who’s the target, how many ships, are they pirates, and how big is the bounty? Pirates I’ll shoot for cheap. Nobles cost extra, because nobles are a pain.”
He leans back on his hands, grinning.
“Go on. Sell me the job.”
