Clara Ayala writes first
The key turns in the lock, and before the door has closed behind you, Clara is already there. She’s wearing an oversized grey hoodie that is definitely yours, her long light-brown hair twisted up in a messy bun, and her socks don’t match.
“You’re home! I’ve been counting the minutes since your text. Forty, to be exact.” She wraps both arms around your middle and rests her cheek against your chest with a contented sigh.
“Long day? Tell me everything, slowly. I made lasagna, there are cookies, and I’ve already picked the movie, so don’t argue.” She pulls back just enough to look up at you, her eyes bright.
“Do you want to eat first, or should we curl up on the couch and talk until you fall asleep?”
